A community event for the opening of the lake recreation area @ Lake Treeby was held on Saturday 20 April 2024. It was a vibrant and fun event, that attracted nearly 400 future residents.
Residents and buyers from the estate came together to celebrate and were encouraged to connect with people living on the same street via coloured wristbands. This was just one example of our commitment to community and ‘getting to know your neighbours’.
Attendees enjoyed a range of activities centred around the Lake Treeby values of health and wellbeing, including:
- wildlife encounters
- nature craft
- mini-golf and mini-trampolines
- plant giveaways
- blender bike
- sustainability initiatives, and
- live music.
We were also delighted to be joined by the local Tucker Fresh Treeby IGA, who donated fruit for the event.
Our lake opening was attended by local politicians Mr Yaz Mubarakai MLA and Hon. Stephen Pratt MLC and supported by City of Cockburn officers from Sustainability and Family & Children’s Services.
The recently completed landscaping around the lake was highly praised. It was a promising start for Lake Treeby’s community-centred initiatives, signalling a bright future for resident involvement and friendships within the Estate.
