Neighbour Gatherings

We’re making it easy for Lake Treeby residents to host or join a Lake Treeby Neighbourhood / Street Gathering this Summer.  It’s a fun, simple way to meet neighbours in or near to your street, and build a stronger community.

Organise Your Own Street / Neighbour Gathering

  • Invites: We’re providing you with a pre-prepared invite to download, add details and print.  Download it here
  • Venue: Lake Treeby already has several beauitful parks with shade, tables, grass or BBQs to hold the event.
  • BYO Food & Drink: Just ask people to bring a plate to share and their own drinks.
  • Optional Funding Contribution: Lake Treeby and City of Cockburn can provide you with up to $100 in contributions to help cover your costs.  Funds can be used for food (e.g sausages, buns, fruit), entertainment, decorations or promotion.  We’ve got details about how to apply further below.
  • Keep It Simple: The size and scale is up to you.  Invite just the neighbours from your street, or if you’re on a small street, invite a few streets near to yours.

Most importantly, just set the date and venue, print and distribute the invite and make it happen!  It’s a great way to connect with your new neighbours.

  • Set up and print a neighbour WhatsApp QR code so people can scan it and automatically join your Lake Treeby Street /  Neighbours Group.
  • Decorate the space with simple decorations
  • Add a few games/activities to help people to get to know one another
