Caring For Our Community Gardens
Community Gardens are a great way to meet neighbours and care for your local community.
We’ve got a basic garden plus smaller herb beds and fruit trees scattered throughout the estate. You’re welcome to pick what you need and help to water them in summer.

Community Garden - Fruit
Location
Neighbourhood Park, Meander Way.
Fruit Trees
-
Lemon – Citrus limon ‘Meyer Lemon’. This is a hybrid citrus fruit, native to China and is a bit less acidic and smaller than a typical lemon. It is thought to be a cross between a lemon and a tangerine, orange or mandarin. Fruit is produced throughout the year.
-
Kumquat – Citrus japonica ‘Nagami’. The term ‘kumquat’ actually means golden orange in Mandarin. It produces small, strongly perfumed flower in late spring and bright orange edible fruits in autumn. The fruit is the size and shape of a large olive.
-
Fig – Ficus carica ‘Brown Turkey’. This tough fig variety produces delicious purple-grown coloured fruits with sweet, pale pink flesh inside.
