Lake Treeby Public Art
The public art at Lake Treeby includes work by Martin Jaine, Jennifer Dawson, Kevin Bynder, Brenton See and Paula Hart,
Much of our art is inspired by the local environment and community surrounding Lake Treeby.
You’ll spot this series of ceramic artworks in the pavement next to the lake. The colllaborative art series tells the story of the Nyoongar six seasons, by using the colours, texture and imagery of the natural environment of Treeby. The larger mosaic depicts an interpretation of the six seasons, whilst the six smaller circles reference each of the six seasons.
This stunning sculpture by our lake is made of recycled steel and celebrates our Lake Treeby residents. The leaves of the lower branches of the tree contain punched steel names of our first residents, and the tree grows as our community grows.
This colourful mural includes local flora and fauna that lives within the Lake Treeby and City of Cockburn area. Look closely and see if you can spot the cockatoo, blue banded bee, slender banksia, prickly bitter pea, splendid fairy wren, motorbike frog, green crab spiderand more.
Paula enjoys creating art that explores stories of people, community, place and identity. This piece uses Treeby Primary School drawings that reflect the different activities the children enjoy doing in Treeby, their parents jobs and what unique activities they do on weekends.
