Community

We’re building a great neighbourhood that celebrates cultural diversity and encourages neighbourly interaction.

Community Events, Initiatives & Activities

We have a healthy program of community events, activities and initiatives to help you connect with other residents at Lake Treeby. A dedicated Community Developer Officer helps to coordinate our Community Program.

Already happening at Lake Treeby are major community events, smaller ‘get to know your neighbour’ events, a community sponsorship program, Facebook Residents Group and more.

To encourage and enable connection between our Lake Treeby residents, we’ve included the following into the design of Lake Treeby:

Already established

  • A dedicated chat space by the lake.
  • A community tree, where each resident has their name engraved on a leaf.
  • Fruit trees and a neighbourhood garden, where you can pick fruit or herbs and meet your neighbours.
  • Community Corners that encourage street level neighbour interaction, including library boxes for book swapping, bird bath, herb gardens, hopscotch and more.
  • A ‘walkable’ community.
  • An all ages design for our main recreation area by the lake, including BBQs, grassy areas, playground, stretch deck and a walk circuit.

Planned for future

  • A major sporting oval, with club rooms, sports pavilion and community centre.
  • A primary school.

Community Sponsorship

Lake Treeby Estate values the important role people play in establishing a local community, where residents feel welcome, connected and in which they can live happy and healthy lives.

The estate is passionate about the contribution from sporting clubs, schools and other not-for-profit organisations and local community groups. Through our Community Sponsorship Program, we seek to partner with local organisations/groups and fund projects, activities and events that reflect the estates vision and meet local needs.

Our sponsorship guidelines have been produced to assist local, not-for-profit community groups to apply for financial assistance from Lake Treeby Estate through the sponsorship program.

Get To Know Your Neighbour Materials

When you’ve moved from another country or you’re buying your first home, it can be hard to know exactly how to meet your neighbour. So we’ve developed some simple materials to help you get to know your neighbour.

  • Tips – a tips sheet that includes conversation starters, ways to meet your neighbours, how to be a good neighbour and ideas for activities to meet your neighbours.
  • Hello Neighbour Card – a printable card that you can drop at your neighbour’s house to let them know you’re happy to make contact.
  • Neighbour Consent Form – An online consent form where you can provide consent to share your contact details with your immediate neighbour.
